Free the Girls!

April 19, 2013 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Celebrate, honor and help support women who have been rescued out of sex slavery simply by donating a bra and a $1! Grab that not so favorite bra you haven’t worn in ages (you know you have one) and stop by for a drink to help support Free the Girls. I will be there collecting them! An alarming 80% of slaves involved in the horrific sex trade are women and girls. Once they are freed there are limited aftercare resources to help them. Free the Girls, founded by Emmy-award winning television producer (Kimba Langas) and a social entrepreneur (Dave Terpstra), helps these women by donating the bras to Mozambique, Africa where the women sell them to help support themselves and go to school. Bras are hard to come by in certain areas of the world and this fundraising effort has helped to collect over 80,000 bras! For more on this cause check it out below. I hope to see you and your bras on the 19th 🙂 The $1 donation will go to the shipping cost and the remaining will be sent to Free the Girls. Thank you!
