Fall colors are my favorite. The warm reds and burnt oranges are cozy and comforting, giving us feelings of optimism and positive energy. The bright yellows and hints of gold emit happiness, the green tones relaxing and creating balance in the space. In autumn these colors line our streets and forests with their vibrancy and inviting these colors into our homes adds a beautiful touch.
This tablescape was inspired by the feelings of fall, and the idea that inviting in fall colors and bits of the Earth into our homes allows us to truly celebrate the changing of the season. The pieces used can sit on the table through the season and into Thanksgiving, just before that last leaf has fallen. From the acorns and pumpkins to the leaves and candles, here is how the table came together.
This traditional fall cornucopia was made with fall leaves, husks of corn and some red ribbon with gold trim to add a decorative touch. The table’s centerpiece, it symbolizes nourishment and abundance. The candles are battery operated, the perfect way to bring in a glowing atmosphere when dining in the evening. Pumpkins and acorns are scattered throughout the table, and add even more of a fall touch. Traditional white dishes with scrolling were used to add a vintage look. The silverware sits under a single red and gold leaf which was purchased at Pier One Imports, as well as the napkins and table runner. The tablecloth is Autumn Scroll by Damask. A wreath filled with acorns and leaves sits on a wooden serving tray adorned with pumpkins and a bottle of Silver Oak red wine. A decorative vase was added to create height as well as bring in more of the beautiful fall colors.
This turkey platter has been in the family for generations, and what better time to invite in tradition to a table than during the fall season. If inspired by this tablescape please leave some comments below and add some of your own fall decor ideas!
